Deep impact sockets won't fit?

I bought an impact wrench IR 285B. I bought an 8 pc deep impact socket set from irtools.ca since they were not available in the store where i bought the wrench.

These ingersoll rand sockets are sparkling new and I'm wondering why they won't fit at all. Is it because they're new?

How do i fix this? They are both genuine IR products

Update:

The socket set is probably metric. SAE S68M36L, Im not quite sure with the wrench 1in drive 285-B Impactool.

Can i still use the socket set. Will the socket set go to waste?

Are you talking about the drives not fitting? They come in different drives (the square hole). They usualy come in 1/4, 1/2, 3/8, 3/4 and 1. Make sure your wrench and the sockets have the same drive.

Make sure that you are using metric sockets on metric bolts and nuts and that you are using English sockets on English bolts and nuts.

Your new wrenches might be metric or SAE

    Maybe your nuts are metric...
