Why are Christians picked on this site more than any other religion?

seriously, you can't say it's cause we're destructive, just look at some of the other * ahem* religions.

Not ONE of the other religions on this site, are as hateful, rude, ignorant, and mean, or tell people that they are going to hell because of things that the christians consider ''sinful''!

Nor are any of the other religions/philosophies as judgmental!

And you will see that throughout history christianity is without a doubt the most harmful religion!

    the Crusades

    the Salem witch Trials

    the Spanish Inquisition

The Holocaust, to name a few!! To say you are not destructive?, is like saying Typhoid Mary, had a little rash!

I would assume that it is because Christians are more likely to not only announce their faith but to use their faith as support for their thoughts. I find that Christians are less likely to be tolerant of other people's religious, sexual, moral and ethical beliefs than other religions - actually I can't say that. What I can say is that the intolerant people who announce their religious beliefs tend to be Christan and they will often use the the bible to back up their intolerance. This makes sense since most of the Christian religions teach that if you don't believe what they do then you are going to hell. So the intolerance is there, it's ingrained.

But really, when was the last time you read a mean answer and the person used a Buddhist, Hindu or Jewish text to support their intolerant point of view?

It's because--and you've got about fifty more messages saying the same thing coming--the Christians are the ones on here who have continuously refused to have an academic type discussion about ANYTHING in the religious spectrum. There are people in EVERY religion(and non-religion) who are nice/easy to talk to and there are a**holes in all of them as well. Even in your question, however, you have already started an affront against other religions. Instead of just asking the question to get an honest answer, you automatically accused other dogmas of being worse than yours.

Let's put it this way:of all the people posting in this section, I've never seen any group with as many staunch zealots as Christianity. Christianity pervades all the cultural ties most people can make. So, in order to not believe the same as you do, other people must(and do) make an antagonizing statement. Most Christian posters on here absolutely will NOT give any ground or credence to anyone else's beliefs..so they get antagonized more sharply.

Because they think that "turn the other cheek literally means to "turn the other cheek".

Because they think that we're weak. But they forget that although Jesus left this earth as a sheep, He's returning like a Lion.

They have always looked at us as if we're supposed to take their crap. I'm one who doesn't and won't. I refuse to be walked all over. And when I stand up for myself I'm told that I should "apologize".

I knew when I became a Christian, that I was going to be hated by many. And I believe that God knew when He called me, that I'm a fighter. So He knew what He was getting when He called me.

I fight for what I believe in.

I don't do it in a [ destructive ] manner. Such as destroying property, burning down someones house, or bombing a medical clinic.

I do it with my right to Freedom of Speech. And I will NOT be silenced. By anyone.

Most popular and well-known in this community, for one thing. How much can you criticize something you don't know?

Another factor is that this community is largely peopled by those who are accustomed to being able to speak out critically.

Christians in certain countries draw a lot of criticism for being... oh, how should I put it?

    Insular.

because it is more popular, in america, europe etc.

some people here seem that atheism is like a religion to them and they are annoying because it seems that some things they say come against with other things they say, and they are stubborned and very closed minded. And most of them are uneducated and they don't even know what they are talking about. But not all of them, some of them are polite and nice.

Because it's easy to pick on Christians. It's not so easy to pick on people who threaten to cut off your head if you draw a picture of their prophet. Cowards will always pick on people who won't fight back. And for the most part, Christians don't fight back.

I don't hear about them being picked on as much as the atheist people.

Quit with the "poor me" attitude. Everyone gets their fair share of sarcasm and snarky comments. If you can't take the heat, get the F**k out.

They are the most uneducated and brainwashed people on YA.

And to the person above... no, we pick on muslims just as much. They are quicker to hit the "report" button, though, and Yahoo is quicker to delete them.

Yahoo doesn't want to be firebombed.
