How accurate is this polling data?

I'm trying not to have an aneurysm here.

We have a close friend with his phd in Statistics. He says that any results wanted/desired can be created by the right polling questions and how they are asked.

Also I believe the Democrats are really playing up the lead to try to discourage people from voting at all.. after all, if you're gonna lose anyway why turn out? I don't think it is working though.

The last I heard a poll had McCain and Obama separated by two points! BHO should have closed this deal already! But, people are starting to ask questions and ponder whether a Socialist President is what they want...I feel McCain can really pull this out...That is why BHO is going back to PA, because they are afraid they will lose the state...This election is going to be very close...Those liberal polls do not show The Silent Majority...people that are conservative; that want land of the free; home of the brave, not a Prolitariet similar to the U.S.S.R. lead by a Messiah/Socialist. I fear for my country if he is elected...

the polls are never right... i just had this discussion with my parents it doesnt matter what they say...... a while back they said one man was going to win the election because he was like 8% or something ahead of the other. then when election count came around the other guy won by a lot more votes.....so i dont ever trust the polls...
