Best place to sell quality english saddle?

Saddle fitter just came, and said there is no way my saddle is ever going to fit my horse. I decided to keep the horse, although it was a tough decision :P

It's a County Stabilizer - my concern is being able to get a decent price in my rural area. I can't afford to stick it on commission for any amount of time, as I can't really afford to buy another saddle before selling this one.

Any ideas for a quick(ish) but cost-effective way to sell a saddle?

One poster mentioned e-bay but didn't tell you that you can list your saddle on there with a hold price so that if you don't get your price you can either take it off ebay or relist it and hope somebody REALLY has to have it and missed out the last time you listed it.

    Craig's List also works.

Remember to have pictures of your saddle to post: Both sides, front and back and underneath.

E-bay. The charge a listing fee and a final value fee, but both are reasonable. You'll be able to advertise your saddle to everyone in the nation. You can also set a minimum value called a reserve.

I have sold a couple of saddles on E-bay and it has worked very well.

I sold my County Symmetry on E-bay. I ended up getting $1300.00 or $1400.00 for it. It was in mint condition. I saw saddles much more expensive on there that sold. It was the quickest way to sell it that I could think of. If you ship it, make sure the tree is protected and it is packed really well. FedEx seems to do a better job at not having beat up boxes upon arrival. Good luck with it.

I had a Prestige saddle that I put on Tacktrader.com and I sold it in about a week or so. Ebay is another great way to go but if you decide to do Ebay, make sure you only except Paypal payments its the safest way to Ebay.

I would out ads up at a barn. People usually look for stuff there. I have bought a really good Wintec saddle from someone at a barn I used to work at. Good Luck.
