Lieberman is a closet republican and he didn't want fingers point at his buddy George W. Bush who just happened to be president when 9-11 occurred and who just happened to ignore multiple warnings of an imminent attack by George Tenet, the director of the CIA, and Richard Clarke, the top anti-terrorism adviser.
