I live in york, pa and recently had surgery. Would I be able to collect unemployment?
I don't have short term disability at my job except through Aflac, which I don't have because I cant afford it, and I might be off for 6-8 weeks. I need some sort of income to support my wife & I. I would like to know if anyone has ever faced this problem and received unemployment?

Unemployment is only applicable if you have been laid off against your will. It doesn't pay if you have surgery and are out for 6-8 weeks.

No, you can only collect unemployment if you are able to work, available for work, and looking for work. Being off for illness doesn't qualify.

No, but you should be eligible for state disability insurance while you are temporarily out of work.
