Why do dictators always try to shut up the Church first? ?

I think people need to be reminded in this post that if not for the churches they hate wars would have no rules. Equal Rights would not exist, and homeless people would still be starving these same churches people hate are also the same churches that during times of war protected people not form their own religion from being executed.

It was these same people form churches that decided it was wrong to persecute people based on religion. Many of the laws we take for granted today were originally instituted by people from churches.

In answer to this question we have very little left of our original constitution.

I love how things that happen to churches get basically swept under the rug nationally.

Its the separation of church & state. If the church starts getting into politics, the next step is that they can endorse a particular candidate and potentially control the gov't through said candidate.

And let's be clear - the IRS absolutely does NOT have the power to make a church stop endorsing a candidate. The only thing they can do is remove their tax exempt status. The church is still free to promote whoever they want.

Often religion is the dictator. Look at the middle east.

I think you should also consider that religion has been responsible for much of the horror that has been committed: The inquisition, Holy Wars, Galilleo, burning of 'witches', etc.

I don't think the Constitution would suggest that anyone be taxed.

It is one of the basic principles of Marxism.

You get rid of the Church because it teaches values to people, thereby making people unequal. Next you get rid of capitalism because people can become successful thereby making people unequal. You also have to get rid of the family unit, because kids will be more successful thereby unequal.

They want to break the spirit and faith of the people, so they can control them and offer no hope in the future, except the faith in them.

Sorry, but you really do need to keep your religion out of my government. I assure you do not want my religion in your government.
