What can relieve pain after a knee replacement?
I am a nursing student and want to help a patient (w/out giving meds) that has pain weeks after a knee replacement. Cold packs dont help her anymore (cant tolerate cold anymore). She said she tried hot packs, but that didnt help. She is currently receiving therapy. Does anyone have other suggestions? Thanks!!

I had knee replacement, and it is one of the worst pain I have ever felt, and I have had 4 big major surgeries and this is the worst, I don't beleive in pain pills but I took them for a little while because it's to hard to take

As a therapist myself, you might want to let the THERAPIST know so that he/she can alter the patient's plan of care. Perhaps the therapist is being a little bit aggressive. E-stim coupled with heat/ice is also a good modality for pain.
