Mullah Ali Qari (r.a), a renowned Muhaddith explains that:-

Poetry containing truth, wise words, advices, useful parables, etc. that are of benefit to mankind, as well as those containing praises of Allah and Nabi , promoting abstinence from worldly luxuries, exhortation towards the Aakhirah and other aspects of Deen are indeed praiseworthy

    Quran says

As for the poets, the erring follow them,See you not that they speak about every subject (praising others right or wrong) in their poetry? And that they say what they do not do.Except those who believe and do righteous deeds, and remember Allah much, and reply back (in poetry) to the unjust poetry (which the pagan poets utter against the Muslims). And those who do wrong will come to know by what overturning they will be overturned.

    (chapter.26-verse-224-227)

No, why should it be? Many people compare the Qur'an to poetry too (okay, not a strong point, but anyway ;))

Unless it's about something inappropriate, of course.

He he, request Love from Iran to go drown?

Poetry isn't haram. Why, The Quran is meant to be read as the book of poems.

hmm many people have made poetry, even Shaikh Saud asshuraim makes poetry, i read in his biography and interview......

So insha Allaah ghair. Aslong you don't glorify haraam things, like zina' and commit kufr/shirk with your poetry...
