Employee "Free Choice" Act?
If you were working somewhere, and a vote came up about unionizing, do you support "secret balloting" or a "checkoff" where everyone knows how you voted?
If you heard that democrats support this "Free Choice" act, and it changes secret ballots to a check-off, where others know your vote, is that "Free Choice" or is it "Intimidation" ??
What do you think?

I have been in that situation a couple of times and the pressure to vote yes was pretty strong. I would feel very uneasy voting no if that vote was public..
Calling it the "Free Choice Act" is a total joke..

I support secret ballots on this this. Not everyone supports the idea of unionizing. Too engage in a public ballot can only serve one purpose. This is too make it easy to identify particular people. Now in it's purest form this would just be a means of seeking out people to address their concerns in hopes of changing their vote, but in the extreme form it is a means of seeking out people to target for intimidation. Unions do not have a clean history of fairly dealing with dissenters and this bill is a bad idea.

It could lead be intimidation. But I don't have a huge problem with that type of voting so much (Though I think secret is better) -- People should be able to vote what they believe in regardless of what others are doing.
The problem I have is when you are forced to be part of the union (and pay dues) when you don't want to. That is what I don't like. I believe that under the "free choice" act, as soon as a majority agree to unionize, the whole population is forced to be union members and pay dues. That I don't like one bit.
This is one of the major (yet much ignored) pieces of legislation that Democrats will propose if they control all branches of the government after the elections.

Secret ballots are the best way to avoid any type of intimidation from either the boss or the union.

Obama is in favor of the "check-off", thereby giving enormous opportunity for intimidation.
Democrats are only in favor of "choice" when it comes to killing unborn babies.
Choice to not join a union, own a firearm, homeschool your child or not vaccinate your child are big no-can-do's for them.
