How is it that people can't tolerate alternative viewpoints?

Update:

The link is to:

Barack Obama - Gianna Jessen Born Alive Abortion

((If you're a woman who's had an abortion, this is not condemnation toward you.))

A segment on Hannity & Colmes regarding Gianna, who survived being aborted and would have been snuffed out if the abortionist had been on the scene; alternately, she was sent to an emergency room by the nurse.

Her life is living testimony that abortion is not solely about women's rights.

Hannity interviews first and then Colmes; so there are alternate views represented.

Neither Hannity nor Colmes budge from their ground. I find it interesting, however, that Colmes' viewpoint still leaves no room to disagree...he budge even when there is living proof in front of him that there's more to life and more to consider with abortion than the mom's rights.

Here's her story:

Update 2:

No time to listen to an alternate viewpoint? No time to answer?

That's precisely why I'm asking this question.

Update 3:

Not that this is necessarily the case here, but I try to keep in mind that some get paid for blogging...regardless of the subject.

It doesn't move me that someone doesn't have time to engage here...nor does it mean that someone with high points is an expert. As such, what may turn out as the "best answer" may not actually be THE answer.

When it deals with matters of life and death, especially of the unborn, tolerance is not acceptable.

Should we tolerate bigotry, hate, genocide, or murder, theft, rape, slavery, violence against women, animal cruelty, etc?

One must make a stand when faced with matters such as these.

Viewpoints are thoughts. Abortion is a behavior.

Well one thing is this is coming from fox news so it has an incredible conservative swing on things. What I mean by this is they're probably leaving out facts that otherwise would change your opinion like other things included in the votes he rejected. And Well pretty much Fox News is along the lines of your conservative and believe what we say or your against America and a liberal radical terrorist. While I'm liberal, I have conservative friends who I like, but disagree with, and they kind of hate Fox News too.

I think we each have a real need to feel we have the right answer. Sometimes people feel very threatened by someone who holds an opposite view. Of course, if someone is very adamant, or insulting to another with regard to having another point of view, that is also difficult to deal with. No one wants to be called stupid, or an idiot, etc., for having a difference of opinion.

Don't just provide a link without an explanation as to what it is about; no one wants to take the time to peruse these.

Because some views fit the facts and evidence and some don't.

The latter kind is not repectable.

    Usually insecurity.

If you are right then that makes me wrong. We can't have that now can we?
