What is the problem with people these days?
If you tell them you have a problem, they listen attentively, offer solutions and then backpedal - 100%. If I had been hiding details, I could understand, but I laid all of my cards on the table, no issues hiding anywhere. I have never done this. If I make a gesture to help someone, I follow through. If I can't help them, I usually find someone who can or start making phone calls. Or I lend my sympathy and tell them I can't help them but I can listen. But I NEVER get their hopes up like these people are doing to me and then drop them on their head. Why are people so sick lately?

Are these people you are talking about friends? If so, it might be a good idea to expand your social circle.
If it was a professional person, like a counsellor, who has let you down, please don't let that stop you from finding someone to talk to, or to get help if you need it. Not everyone gets along with everyone else, and it might just be that you haven't found the right person.
Also, some people just have bad days. We are all just human, and what has happened isn't your fault.

It's just the nature of people. Unfortunately sometimes people suck.
You didn't specify what, exactly, the problem is. Perhaps if you posted the problem someone here could help with a solution or give you some direction.
