What are your favorite Vampire and Werecreature stories?
Other than Twilight what are your favorite vampire and werewolf, werecat, wereXXXX stories? Doesn't matter what genre I am curious.
I've read Anita Blake, Sookie Stackhouse, DarkHunter, Carpathians, Riley Jensen-Guardian, Kitty Corville, Mercy Thompson... I really wonder if I've missed something good.
I said other than twilight because i've read them too (somehow i guess I figured you'd realize that... sorry i am not always clear) I enjoyed the first two of the twilight series 3rd not so much and hated the 4th.
I didn't ask which Vampire you loved... but which stories you find the most interesting and spell binding. Which you'd like to read again and again.
I too love Ann Rice's work but I think my favorite of her's was The Mummy.

Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles.
"Interview With The Vampire", "The Vampire Lestat", etc.
Another series I've heard is very good but haven't had the pleasure of reading yet is the "Undead" series by MaryJanice Davidson. They're more of a humorous look at life as a vampire.

That's the thing, I'm not into vampires/werewolves/etc. But Twilight was so unique - it makes you actually like that stuff. Weird but I guess it's the magic of the author's writing and imagination. However I have to say I wasn't impressed with the sequels after New Moon.

The Mercedes Thompson series by Patricia Briggs. I haven't read Twilight, though. I've heard that it's a load of brain candy -- which isn't a terrible thing.
