Why most tomboy girls during the childhood became a girly girl when they grow older?

They dont have to. But most do. Just like most guys become more conscious of their appearance as well.

For me, once a tomboy, always a tomboy. I was a tomboy growing up and never really got into the girly things. I still don't get into the girly things. I don't wear dresses, hardly ever wear make-up, don't wear anything with heels, I can fix almost anything around the house or outside, don't mind getting dirty, etc. Nope, no girly girl here.

Its quite the opposite for me, i was never a tomboy when i was younger, i used to wear girly clothes and play with girls toys, but then as i got older i stopped wearing dresses, and became more of a tomboy.

It really depends on the girl, some girls grow out of it and some don't.

Hmm, well, I was/am a tom boy due to having 3 older brothers (not from not caring about how I look) and I fully enjoyed and still enjoy goofing around, wrestling (with select boys), and am still addicted to hockey. So, not all of us have changed (although I can put on heels and sweet dresses with the best of 'em). I've got the best of both worlds as I see it.

When girls are younger, they don't really care what boys think about them. And they just want to have fun. But most of the people i know, once they hit 7th, 8th, or 9th grade. It all changes. They want to be looked at as someone a guy is attracted to. She doesn't wanna be "one of the guys" anymore. She wants them to NOTICE her, and so then, as you said, they result to turning into a girly girl.

I hope I helped you out.

i was a tomboy most of my middle school years. i always felt real open and exposed if i wore anything to revealing, like skirts. i tried to bring myself out there by the time i reached senior year. now i'm in college, and i'm more Feminine and prefer it this. i guess we just change. maybe we get tired of hiding our bodies behind baggy clothes and maybe just want other types of clothes to start bringing out our figure.

or maybe it could be that they are at a point in their lives that they're ready for a boyfriend.

Because they don't care what boys think about them when they're younger. But as they mature, they want the boys to start looking at them so they think they need to be more girly.

I think I stayed right in the middle.

I agree with Jeena. When someone is just a little kid, they will not care about themselves but when they got older, clothes, make-up, etc. will be the most important thing in their lives.

"Tomboy" and "girly-girl" are stupid concepts. What makes some actions boyish and others girlish? Either way you've still got a vagina.
