Because God IS love. God answers your question in the New Testament of the Bible, which is His word. It is a verified historical fact that Jesus Christ lived and was crucified by Pontius Pilate. Read about His life and His claims. I would highly recommend a book that changed my life..."Know Why You Believe" by Paul Little. It's all in there. Once you believe that Jesus was crucified, died and rose again, you're in. Pray for God to open your heart as you seek to find an answer to your question. He will give it to you if you ask. God Bless you, and may you find His love and grace on your quest for the Truth.

Im not christian, but i suppose it makes them feel more loved than if they just relied on the love of other humans. Because according to the christian faith, God won't stop loving you, and that unconditional love must mean something very deep and very powerful to christians.

Love is the substance of God, it is what he is. If God is love, then that is what we are too. God abides in us, and we abide in him, we are one with him, and the love of Christ should always radiate from us to others just as his love radiates from him to us.
