Would you make a contract with someone who repeatedly broke their last contract?
Given the GOP 1994 Contract with America and the subsequent failure of the GOP to live up to most if its terms....
* FIRST, require all laws that apply to the rest of the country also apply equally to the Congress;
* SECOND, select a major, independent auditing firm to conduct a comprehensive audit of Congress for waste, fraud or abuse;
* THIRD, cut the number of House committees, and cut committee staff by one-third;
* FOURTH, limit the terms of all committee chairs;
* FIFTH, ban the casting of proxy votes in committee;
* SIXTH, require committee meetings to be open to the public;
* SEVENTH, require a three-fifths majority vote to pass a tax increase;
* EIGHTH, guarantee an honest accounting of our Federal Budget by implementing zero base-line budgeting.
Most of these were completely and utterly ignored by the GOP right after they were released....
Would you go back to a company that ignores its contracts? Then why would you continue to vote for the GOP?

LOL! Very nice example of a "slippery slope" fallacy.
The Contract with America was designed to get Republicans in Congress, which it did.
What you conveniently left out is the fact some elements did not pass in Congress, were vetoed by President Bill Clinton or were substantially altered in negotiations with the President.
The contract was intended to be used without regard to party affiliation.
Dems are just as much to blame for it not working as Republicans.

Great question!
They don't care. They are too worried about having their money taken away by a "socialist."
It is sad that they would rather listen to the smears of their leaders than research and find out the truth!
