i wanna know about computer engineering?

at my uni it goes something like this:

1st and 2nd year is common to all elec/comp engineers. Basic math, physicsm circuits and digital logic/programming courses. After 2nd year breaks up into 6 areas

semiconductor/device physics

communications

Computer software

computer hardware/digital electronics

control systems/analog electronics

up to you what areas you want to go into

basically there are various fields of computer engineering.

in the 1st year u will be taught basic science.

from the second yr and there after there will be stream subjects waiting for u.

1.Programming & Algorithm:

u will be taught various programming language such as C,JAVA,VB etc. and there will be a separate paper of algorithm and the principles.in the 3rd or 4th yr there are also web applications based on Java.

2.Database Management System:

general theory of DBMS + Sql

3.Networking:

Details of Internet(This is really a vast one).this has also sub fields.

broadly these are main fields.without these there are so many such as cryptography, financial management, project planning and so on.

u have to do final year project (obviously in ur last yr) & it will taught u those things u have never heard of.
