How Long Does It Take For A Woman To Recognize Love...?

For a woman to realize she loves someone, is it instinct, is it exposure to a personality, is it physical, is it mental, is it a learned behavior, all of the above, none of the above?

What takes an initial impression of simple curiosity, and makes it start to burn with the flames of passion, love, desire and need?

Inquiring minds want to know?

As long as needed. At my 20's (I miss only the energy of that time) it wasn't more physical than emotional. Somewhere, over the years, "love" had a total different meaning for me. I only agree, that "chemistry" is crucial no matter how old you are but as years go by, I became more "passionate about my own spiritual and emotional part" and I took "dating" to a whole new level. I'm glad I came to that realization although with that wisdom, I also had "higher expectations" of men. Then you get married to the one of whom you thought had all the qualities that you expected one to have, you have kids with him, you start a family and in that process, something went wrong. I've clearly, had to lower my expectations and realize, since I'm not perfect, neither is he.

    Hi Bear,

Obviously you should get many varying answers, and here's my input.

I say these things often, in my answers, and I believe in them. First of all "Love" is so ill defined and irrational, I doubt any one can be accurate in describing it, other than to them very individually and personally.

I suspect you are correct in your use of the word instinctual, but that speaks more to the primal, which may have no relation to the emotional.

It is most definitely a balance or imbalance between the mind and body, and effects on either. Sex for example is as much a mind experiment and experience as it is a physical one.

Love, no matter who defines it or what it means to any individual can certainly be all the above and more.

I not only don't truly get it, but have no idea how to manage it. I think you and I have talked about the why,the when, the what if, the what gives, and I am not so much closer to knowing, than perhaps millions of us.

Added thought. I do believe in an anlogy it's like a really good book, that once read, almost begs or demands that we read it over and again.

Some women recognize love even before meeting that specific someone!! :)

For me, inquiring minds should not want to know.

Should let their whole , Feel , Surrender and Enjoy.

edit : Maybe tomorrow, I have another, completely different opinion.... Love does such things!! hehe
