If god is all powerful and all knowing...?

Suppose this. If god created everything and is supposed to know all, then it is safe to assume that he not only created the devil but he knew what he was doing when he did.

The question is then, why does he not eliminate the devil and be rid of evil, or does he need the devil to scare people into believing him (which is in my opinion an evil act).

Your right he needs the devil to scare people into believing in him. Actually he could have just given better evidence like a message in the sky, but he prefers bribes and scare tactics. Which is funny because Christians might argue that more evidence would vialate free will for the atheists, but they think the terroism they inject in their children is perfectely fine.

One I stopped fearing hell and scare tactics I saw how ludicrus the Bible was. I guess the only conclusion I can make is that either a theist doesn't exist or God created evil.

God didn't create evil. The devil used to be an angel that got greedy for the worship that only God deserved and became the devil, which means slanderer, when he spoke lies about him to Eve. God doesn't need the devil to scare people into believing in him. He will eliminate him and evil.

He does not use the devil to scare people into believing He uses the devil to give us a choice. do you want to deny God or accept God.

    It is all about choice.

    Peace!!

You're saying God should force you to believe something which he'll never do. If he eliminated the devil or evil or sin there would be one choice. He'll always leave a choice.

the devil was formerly an angel, and God gave the angels free will, just like people. the devil chose not to obey God and was cast out of heaven. hell wasnt made for man, it was made for the devil and the demons who rebelled with him. hell is not a scare tactic, i'ts the last place God wants anyone to go.

The religious bunch cannot kill off the devil because then they would not have a scare tactic to keep people in their religion.

Even without the devil there is still evil on earth. By nature we sin. Did you not know one of those sins is murder? Murder is evil.

Lmao, the Christian Devil is different from what people originally thought he was. In Jewish lore, he was God's helper.

    I agree with Cobber,

If there was no devil, then there would only be one choice,

and that would be God himself.

He gives us choices, but leaves it up to us to decide what's best for us.

Though I think he would rather you believe in him,

He won't FORCE you into believing in him.

Beleiving in him is up to you
