That was purely amazing?

Holy crap Carl way to freaking go!!! What do you guys think of that finish? : D

Update:

Even if you didn't like it at least give the guys some credit. It takes a lot of nerve to go for that kind of gamble.

i don't think it took that much nerve. as said above, jimmie and chad did the same thing earlier this year at phoenix, and once he got to a certain point, there was no turning back. and when the team owner is standing right beside you and gives you the ok and you've got so much to gain and so little to lose, you go for it.

not trying to take anything away from the win or from carl - they deserved it. but like carl himself said, he won it, but the wrong way - he wanted to dominate all the way to the end.

  • That was a Great race I was SO Scared that he was not going to have the fuel to make it! I was so happy when he won I was jumping up and down and I twisted my foot and I think it might be broke but it was well worth it since Carl won and made that big of a gamble!!

Well he took a gamble and he won. Cant say anything bad to that. Junior did the same thing in Michigan.

And it did take alot of nerves to do what he did., Especially now that he is so close in catching Jimmie and if he would have lost, it would of been over for him this week.

Love Carl and he deserved to win because he had the best car all day,but I am with Greg and Jamie;how come he had the fuel-mileage,but they didn't?How can he go like 10 laps farther than anyone else(even his teammates)? How can he go 103 miles on one tank of fuel and still have enough to do a little victory celebration and drive it into Victory Lane and everyone else(except Gordon-which topped off a few more times and had a few extra pace laps because of pit road being closed) only be able to go around 90-91 miles?I think I will wait until after post-race inspection to state an opinion

Freaking awesome. I think Carl can win the championship this year. I can just feel it. I mean he has the momentum now. Jimmie's shaking right now lol. Go 99! Carl you the man!

Carl Edwards is a great driver but i'm mostly glad because I want to see him beat Jimmie Johnson in the chase.

  • 1 decade ago

Congrats to Edwards and his fans on the win, but I'm disappointed that Jeff couldn't pull it off. He really deserves and needs a win this year and Carl already has like eight this year. Oh well. Wins don't always last long. You just never know when your favorite will win again, so congrats on the #99 once again. Hopefully the #24 will win at Phoenix or Homestead this year.

YES! YES! YES! Carl only needs to gain 53 points in each of the next 2 races, and he'll win! I think he can do it!

I think it is cool that he won the race, I really didn't think he was going to win it , at times I thought Jamie was going to win it, I really wanted David Reutimann to win, he was so good yesterday, but he just wasn't good on restarts.

    CRAZY!!!!

I was hoping and praying that Carl and Jeff would run out of fuel and Jamie win!!!

But Im glad it was Carl that won since Jamie didnt!
