just wondering if the cost is so exorbitant it would be cheaper to move to a bungalow.

Depending on the ease of access, anything from £500 to £1000 per linear metre. but obviously, the overall cost will depend on how much of the house needs to be underpinned. It is not uncommon for just one wall to sag. You need specialist advice to identify and verify for you the best way to deal with the movement you have noticed. The work is going to be disruptive if any interior walls are involved, which may be the case if the spine wall has also moved although this would be better dealt with by installing a steel beam right across the ground floor ceiling and transferring the load to the outside walls. With regard to selling values, you need to ask yourself who is going to buy a house that is slowly collapsing. Certainly it would be very difficult for a potential purchaser to fund it. If the work needs to be done, then do it sooner rather than later as the longer you leave it, the more costs will be added as walls continue to separate and incur the work involved in making good.
