Why are people afraid to view data that may disagree with their beliefs?

Its not just because it goes against their beliefs, they want to argue about it too. They think that even if the data is right in front of them they are still "never wrong".

I don't want to point fingers but I feel a lot of Atheist do just that. Ignore the evidence... bible archeology, fulfilled prophecies, evidence for creation, evidence against evolution, the list goes on.

Because it causes a intellectual argument. So lets talk to conscience and bypass your intellect for a moment COME ON DONT BE A HYPOCRITE.

your conscience (the knowledge of right and wrong) lets you know its wrong to break Gods law the 10 commandments. Have you lied? stolen anything? blasphemed his name? ect. that makes you lying, thieving, blasphemer. and all who have done these things will be punished because you broke Gods law, just as if you are in the court of law and have broken the law if the judge is a good judge he will find you guilty and sentence you according to your crimes regardless of what good things you have done. So the only way to be pardoned by God is accecpt that you have broken His laws accept Jesus as the the One that paid your fine trust Jesus alone to save you from your sins and turn away from what your conscience tells you is wrong. Then read the Bible and do what it says. No other religon deals with pardoning someone from wrongdoing you either will get no punishent or you have to try and bribe God with good works. There are also many other ways to prove Gods existence but this is the easiest because the conscience tells you its true rather than trying to argue about intellect.

All I need is the gist of it to make up my mind. If the general idea of it suggests there is a god of some sort I lose interest. Only weak people need to believe that.

Anything, what is not directly connected to their ´´idea´´ of life, is dangerous and, in majority, it debunks religions.

They are LED and deceived, to believe, their ´´faith´´ is only thing, to build their lives AND ´´afterlives´´ on

Because they like their lives the way it is, and because of it they reject change.

because it goes against their beliefs.
