An absolute monarchy, which was a parliamentary democracy for a relatively brief time during its history, whose ruler was called a Shah and the last dynasty of the empire was the Pahlavi. DOn't listen to rebelioner, he's a ugly lying Persian hating Turk. It was a monarchy, the Persian king Cyrus the Great was the first king to respect other cultures other than his own. When he defeated the Babylonians he let the Jewish prisoners return to Israel and he rebuilt the city for them. And the empires he defeated could keep their own tradition, religion and everything unlike the Turks, Greeks, Romans. For example when the Turks defeated a nation they exterminated the people, and took the women as slaves and raped them. The Persians were the first people to ban slavery, for example the palace of Persepolis was built without slavery and the builders got paid for it. The Persian kings never married their own sisters, that's all bullshit. Rebelioner over here is trying to spread lies and hate about Persians. Peace
