LEWIS HAMILTON COMES NOWHERE NEAR TO SCHUMI !! Schumi is a legend, there was a time in f1 when schumi was winning almost every race.. So don't compare hamilton to schumi..

Hamilton has had a better start to f1 than Schumacher did in his debut season he set records for:
Most consecutive podiums from debut race: 9
Most wins in a debut season: 4
Most pole positions in a debut season: 6
and now he is the Youngest F1 World Champion, plus he has won his first championship in the 2nd year of his f1 career and Schumacher was in his 4th i think
but it is too early in his career to say wether he will end up "better" than Michael Schumacher, plus i think now the competition is abit tougher than when Schumacher was racing, what with massa and raikkonen being having lost and won by only one point in the last two seasons. Alonso looks like he could be a threat for the championship again in the future if renault sort themselves out and there are alot of good young drivers like Vetell and kubica who could become very good in the future

Keep in mind, schumacher didn't have the chance lewis had by starting his carrear with a top team like mclaren. That said, i think lewis has a very real chance at surpassing the success that schumi attained during his years in formula 1, if mclaren can keep their cars trouble free in the coming years.

This has to be the most unfair question I have seen in a while. Schumacher is king...like him or not. Lewis has only just finished his second season. Judging by your username I can see the motivation behind this question.

No, I can only see Lewis winning 3 or 4 titles but I think Schumi's 7 titles is a record that will never be broken.

Michael Schumacher won his first Drivers World Championship in his forth year of F1 driving, Hamilton did it on his second; Schumacher's first win was 1 year after driving in F1, Hamilton's first win was in Race 6 of his first year of driving; Schumacher had 91 wins out of 248 starts (37%), Hamilton has had 35 starts and 9 wins (25%).
Michael Schumacher was famous for his ability to win in wet conditions (winning 17 out of 30 "wet" races), and Hamilton has shown a similar trait (I wasn't able to find Hamilton's "wet" race wins to races ratio, but a casual Google shows he has won several wet races). Even though Hamilton has a lower win - start ratio, I think he is at least comparable to Schumacher because he too has an extraordinary gift for driving in the wet. I personally think Hamilton is better.

history will show that lewis hamilton will be the better driver.not only has he had to battle with all those on the track, but also with some nasty verbal racist attacks, which the likes of Schumacher & senna would never had suffered.he has also re-wrote the history books by becoming not only the youngest, but also the first black wdc.he is fearless.

Well, everyone who started watching Formula 1 since Lewis came in, which is what 2 years? Lewis Hamilton is OVERATED as is the case with every new british sports star that comes along, I dont even think he is the best in current formula 1 let alone better than Shumacher. Pound for pound I think Kimi and Fernando are better, but thats just me.

not yet and not for a long while. I reserve the right to change my mind at a later date lol. I can see him being a stayer and maybe equalling or beating MS's record, but seeing as F1 is so unpredictable only time will tell:)
