If you sell on ebay? Advise please..?

I have been varified with paypal with my checking account. Also linked it with ebay..Now I want to sell on ebay but ebay is asking for my credit card information. Why do they need it? I don't want to use it, I want things to go through my checking account??

Update:

I can't get passed this request in order to start selling. Is that normal? In other words, It is something I definately have to give them (credit card info)

First off. . . I would have to tell you. . . DO NOT SELL ON EBAY!!!

In the end they will get more money then you would receive from selling!! Look into cheaper fees on different auction sites.

Try this one for starters: www.yourhighbid.com/

To list an item at ebay with basic enhancements ( Bold title, highlighted, front page featured, and category featured) you would pay about $10.00. . . . . . . .At YourHighBid, I only pay like 12 cents.

YourHighBid has about 600 members, and over 20,000 live auctions!

They are a great bunch of people, happy to help, and they have a great forum as well. . . OK, I AM trying to push this auction site!

The reason is that if I BELIEVE is something, I will share it!

Ebay sucks, and have ripped me off time and time again!

Also, you do NOT have to give them your credit card number to sell anything there. . . . Just without the card number, they limit the number of listings you are allowed.

Hope this helps, as there are so many other sites, other than ebay!

The credit card is just for back up to your checking account.

because they charge you to list and sell, and automatically deduct the money, and if it's not available from your checking account, then they can utilize your credit card.

however, there's a way around this...you can still have it go through your checking account - just give them your debit card information from your checking account.

Yes you have to give them the number.

They charge you for selling and putting things up for auction.
