What do you think are the best airport restaurants?
I'm not talking about the McDonald's at the airport terminal. I'm talking about the local small airports. I know Flow's #2 at Chino is famous, and I've eaten at Camarillo's Waypoint cafe almost weekly.

I used to work at MSN and on the east ramp the restaurant is pretty good, called The Jet Room. There are a few others in S. Wisconsin I could recommend too, for the infamous "100 Dollar Hamburger" There are lots of them all over the US, I think there is a book out actually called "The 100 Dollar Hamburger".

Denver Centennial (APA) has a good one (near TacAir). Santa Barbara (SBA) has the Elephant Bar (north side; I think it's Signature, used to be Santa Barbara Aviation), but I prefer to go slightly off-airport to the Beachside Cafe on the sand at Goleta State Beach. You can actually walk there from Mercury. I think it's "Flo's", by the way (perhaps short for Florence), not "Flow's", at CNO. I actually have not eaten there. Carlsbad (CRQ) had a pretty good one; don't know if they still do. (It was near the base of the tower.) Santa Monica (SMO) has Typhoon, The Hump, and Spitfire Grill on the south side of the airport. I've eaten at Camarillo Airport only once. If it was Waypoint Cafe, then I'd have to say that all of my recommendations are much better. I was not impressed by whatever the restaurant was at Camarillo. Have not been to Catalina in years, but it was a different setting worth checking out, years ago.. Most of the time, we get a crew car and go a little off-airport if we have time. Enjoy!

If based on where you say you have flown to, I have a couple right in your neck of the woods.
Harris Ranch is a great steakhouse on I-5 near Coalinga it has its own 2800 foot runway. Great food.
Up the coast, Watsonville airport has a great little aviation themed mexican restaurant.
Also, on the sea shore, west of san fransisco, half moon bay is a wonderful flying destination, with several hotels and a few good places to eat. You can grab a burger at the pub, or have a fancy $30 a plate Italian meal where the waiter will place your napkin in your lap for you if you forget. Then he will will point at your girlfriend's camera and say "Scoozie, would you like me for to make picture?" God, the girls were swooning over our waiter, but we had a good time.
Also, Airnav.com has airport restaurant information and reviews.

At the Athens Venizelos, there's an EXCELLENT Greek restaurant. Food's good, not exorbitant, and it's located near the gates.
The Irish Pub at Moscow Sheremetyevo is good as well.
