If prop 8 passes in California (banning gay marriage) , will people already married not be anymore?
Could you imagine if they passed a proposition that took away your marriage?

no. prop 8 will not effect existing marriages because of a clause in the constitution called the ex post facto. any law made cannot effect something that happened before it was made. so the marriages already in place will stay legal. in addition, in 2010, someone will write another proposition relegalizing gay marriage, which might pass, and then it will be legal again so more people can get married.

sturdy. I don't have something against gay human beings getting married, yet i do no longer think of they'd desire to show it in colleges, i do no longer think of inner maximum agencies would desire to lose the main appropriate to pick who they do company with (which I variety of concept became the full factor of establishing a private company) and that i do no longer think of that charities would desire to lose their tax exemption on condition that charity would not help gay marriage. and you would be able to call me hateful, however the competition to Prop 8 is so hateful in strikes. that's poor. Why did they'd desire to make it own? we tried to admire their perspectives, even although we did no longer accept as true with them, and that i got here across it very disappointing how many human beings refused to do the comparable. I observed that idiotic commercial at present and the Mormon missionaries going into that lesbian couple's abode and taking their wedding ceremony bands. It broke my heart. My sister, my dad and my brothers all served missions, and those human beings have been purely...slandering them. Brutally. that they had actual no admire for us, and we did attempt to instruct admire for them and their alterations. Ugh. i could throw a Prop 8 party. With party hats. And Sprite.

Supporters of Proposition 8 aren't initiating a "culture war." They are protecting an ancient institution from being redefined by an arrogant judiciary into something it is not. The fight to restore marriage in California is in keeping with the philosophy of liberty upon which America was founded, and on which our form of government is built. Same-sex marriage proponents assertions that this is an "equal rights" issue are flat out, self-evidently wrong and in opposition to the collective experience of mankind.

It's crazy... the original "ban on gay marriage" never should have even made it to the ballot because it's obviously unconstitutional and the wording is rittled with twisty little double-negatives and confusing language...
The Court decided that people didn't know what they were voting for and it was unconstitutional and now they put it back on with an extra double-negative and said "oh yeah?"
California will vote it down and the religious nutters will just have to deal with that.
