A LETTER FROM AUSTRALIA

I have just watched the faces in the audience of president Obama's speech and I was moved beyond measure by the optimism and hope on those faces. This is a chance for a new start and for America to rejoin the World in a constructive way forward.

Here in Australia, we have been hoping for a Democrat victory because we think it's good for the World as well as America and will lead to a more equitable America.

The speech echoed our hopes for the future and one that will go down in history as one of the greats. Cooperation and inclusion instead of division and exclusion came out of the speech and an excitement that I haven't seen in America in decades
