What is a good book of the bible to use as a basis for a novel?
i am writing a novel, and i would like to structure the most basic plot after a book in the bible, much as mary shelley's Frankenstein is similar to the beginning of genesis. what books have fairly well-outlined sequential events that could lend themselves to such an adaptation?
just to clarify. i am an atheist, and by writing this novel i will not be in any way supporting what that specific bible book says. i plan, if anything, to be satirical of the story and i only want it to be the most basic frame of my novel. names will be changed and only 4 or five events will be similar.

The Book of Esther and her story. Her bravery and courage and the help of God save her people. It's my favorite book in the Bible...and tell me if you're done writing about this...

The Books of Esther and Ruth
the Book of Hosea ( also from the Old Testament) he married a harlot, a loose woman.
the last chapter of Proverbs contains a wonderful parable about a virtuous wife. You could write an excellent story based on that.

An actual published novel?
Don't. Publishers won't touch it.
