what kind of puppy do you think President-elect Obama will get for his daughters?

Probably a rescue mutt, which is fine, but I don't understand why they had to wait for him to become president ,or feel that need now, to get a dog.

If they want to get a puppy that's reliable, they should get a Sheltie. They are like mini Collies (think Lassie). These dogs have a mild temperment, and are great with kids.

I've seen some reports, both y! answers, and nbc news have said a mutt. The honest side saying it would represent America, as a unified and diverse dog. Other would say a mutt because Obama is (I'm mixed and have heard that insult too).

I say the Sheltie, but with the extremist wanting him to fail, I don't think there is a decent critism-proof dog out there.

Well seeing as how he is very down with anything American in tradition, I think we should all just be glad he is getting a Dog at all.

I thought it was a "Goldendoodle". Ugh!
