Diehard Republicans will you consider switching to the Constitution party?

It now espouses the values of the original Republican party. In the last two decades the Republican candidates have become more like the Democrats with their practices. It is time to fire up a third party alternative and start fresh.

Check it out at http://www.constitutionparty.com/

Smaller government, no more "cops of the world", secure the borders, lower taxes, reduce or eliminate the federal reserve.

Update:

If we start now spreading the word, maybe we can see a Constitution party candidate in the whitehouse by 2012 that will ACTUALLY follow the laws of this country. Follow the constitution.

Update 2:

WOW!

I am impressed with the open mindedness of the first seven answerers. All good responses. See folks there is hope for this country.

I don't think the constitution party would split the vote if people who have been historically republican would look at the track record. The Constitution party is the new, old republican party and the current republican party has become the new second democrat party.

We need to get back to the constitution before the neo-fascists take over the whole blamed country and we see UN troops marching through our streets.

Update 3:

Mopar guy, you and I could easily become good friends.

Same cars, same politics.

I'm already on board! I switched from Republican to Constitution party last November, and after seeing who the GOP backed... McCain-not Ron Paul, I have no regrets.

I must admit though that I did write Ron Paul in for president, as our guy had no chance of going anywhere, and RP in my opinion is most qualified. My hope is that enough people did this so it would be a snub to the GOP party to take a good look at themselves.

I did go with Constitution party candidates for most of the rest of the open offices. I live in a Democrat controlled state(OR), so my vote is little more than a statement, but a statement I shall make!

BTW... There is a law already on the books that has the purpose and intent to federalize the Federal Reserve. JFK made executive order 11110 which was to federalize the Federal Reserve just before he was killed.

In seeing that this E.O.11110 got filed in the round can, and Kennedy was assassinated just days after writing it, I think this proves the Fed is above the law (and our government) at this point.

    Prohibition Party! Yea!

    I would not join yet.

I am waiting for a major overhaul of the republican Party.

Right now, neither the Prohibition or Constitution party are in ANY position to win in nearly any election, let alone the presidency.

First rule is that you must WIN with most of if not your most important issues.

Once you establish power, you work to make the changes you were not able to do before.

So far, I think the republican party is still salvageable.

I like the The Libertarian Party

Small government lower taxes and more freedom

The Libertarian Party is America's third largest political party, founded in 1971 as an alternative to the two main political parties. Our vision is for a world in which all individuals can freely exercise the natural right of sole dominion over their own lives.

It would take several elections for this to take hold. What it would do is put pressure on the Republicans to go back to the values that made the party. Whenever you split a vote, the other party stays in power.

When Ross Perot was on the ballot, it was a major concern because he was splitting the vote. I believe in the Constitution and its values and we do need to keep the ideals of this document in tact.

I'm seriously thinking about that. I'm not a registered Republican, though I usually vote Rep. The Republican party is too soft now, too middle of the road. They're nowhere near the kind of Rep. Reagan was.

The time to fire up a third party would have been in 2006.

Losing this election was the best thing that could happen to the Republican party. Maybe they can now rethink the errors of their ways.

I really think we should be more focused on using our Constitutional rights and powers to pay attention to and fight, if necessary, the next administration than we need to worry about campaigning anytime soon.
