2004 Mazda RX-8 or 2000 Porsche 911?

OK, here's the question, I have the chance to buy one of the cars listed in the title. But which one?

The Mazda is going for mid teens, has 30k miles but is bright yellow (not my fav), the 911 is going for low 20's, has 60k miles, convertible but has an automatic trans.

What would you buy and why?

the 911 sounds like a rich grandma car (convertible and automatic? cmooon), I'd go with the rx-8 and have a little fun with the rotary.

That is a tough choice. I am a Rx-8 owner and love my car. It is one of the most unique vehicles available in both engine and styling. BUT, a chance in a 911 would definitely make me second guess my purchase. Handling in both cars would be comparable, slight edge to the Rx-8 due to weight and balance. Top end speed and acceleration is owned by the 911 without a doubt. The only things that would stop me from the 911 would be the mileage, age, cost of repairs, and complete lack of imagination in the body styling of the 911... is there a noticeable difference from a 2000 911 and 2008 911?

I'd go for the 911....just remember maintanance is higher

I am guessing you're young, so am I. I use to own a G35 coupe, and now own a TL. I was lookinag at the RX8 as well, the 911 didn't cross my mind too much because of the year. But after having owned the TL, buying for reliability and comfort. I would pick excitement and sheer driving fun for my next car.

get the mazda...sure its not quite as fast or nice as a 911 but trust me its the better choice because its newer and will be better for reliablity purposes. and i'm assumng because both of the cars are no where near new you don't have a bunch of money to spend if something happens to the porsche. so yeah... i wouldgo for the mazda deffinetly.
