I bought my husband a Tivo Series 1 SVR-2000 for Christmas on Ebay but it did not come with a remote?
I thought I would just buy a compatible one, but I am now learning that they are very hard to come by. I saw a couple on Ebay but they are a little more than I wanted to spend. I read that the Logitech / Harmony 659 Universal Remote works with it. Is this true? I am not that familiar with electronics and don't want to find out, on Christmas, that it doesn't work. Any advice?

Two great remotes for this set are: URC 6131 and the ZN5DSS. Both are universal, but offer the programmable buttons. Your husband should be able to set this up with any issues. They come with easy to read guides. Plus if you have any issues with them you can always search for a guide online. These remotes range from 5.00 - 20.00; so it's not near as high as the original remote. Good luck.

nope buddy tha wont work !! take two tv sets of same company but there remotes wont work when they are inter changed so the better option is to write an email to ebay or just buy a new remote !! yes they are available in market just tell them the model they will give you 1
