Help with 'style' in clothing?

Question

I want a new hoodie that is mostly purple and comes with a scarf.  It's really great, but I didn't buy it yesterday because it has skulls on it.  I actually like skulls, but since I'm 58 years old (female), I'm afraid the 'kids' would think I'm trying to imitate them.  My husband says to get it, if I like it, and I can certainly afford it ... but if I wear it outside, would you think I was weird, tasteless, or really cool?  Yes, if I was younger, I'd be a goth, and I am an old hippie ... plus I really want this hoodie!

as you probably have learnt with years of funky dressing and experience, youre going to get a few smiles and a few sneers.
and that what  a lot of younger people get too.
i think if my grandma (who is a fwew years older then you) got that sweater id smile! my grandma has short chopping coppery coloury hair and dresses quite young,  and i think good luck to her! - i want to have that much courage to dress how i want when im around that age too!
rules. (including fashion rules) were made to be broken.
so please buy it, wear it, be confident that youre wearing it, and notice how many intrested looks you are going to get!

It's good to be an individual, but in our society today, everyone is categorized and expected to look a certain why. So I think most people would probably ridicule you if you wear something like that.

Who cares what everyone else thinks- its good to be an induvidual!

i would think you look ridiculous. but thats just my opinion. and who cares? you dont know me. if you want it/love it then just buy it. who cares what people think?
