I'm having home stereo problems, can someone help?
The right channel is on my stereo randomly cuts out, only the right side. After each time it cuts out, I turn up the volume knob really fast and loud. This makes the right channel turn back on, this even happens with the speakers turned off while I'm using the headphones. It's a Sony stereo, If that matters.
This has been happening for a while, but I don't know what to do.

I used to service sound equipment for a TV shop. When your symptoms came in (more frequently than you might believe) I would clean and or replace the volume control potentiometers. Try this, take away all inputs and just raise and lower the right channel volume with the control. Listen carefully to the speaker or headphone for scratching noises. That scratching is due to contamination or roughness in the potentiometer. If you have that it is a given that the potentiometer is on its way out...
Hope this helps.
