Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) will improve blood flow to the heart but NOT prevent the coronary blockage from returning. Lifestyle changes are necessary:
* Don't smoke
* Eat a healthy diet
* Get regular exercise
* Treat high blood pressure and high cholesterol.
It is possible that the grafted blood vessel may again be blocked by a thrombus (a stationary clot).

By the end of 1990's the bypass surgeries were becoming quite common and results were becoming very positive from these types of surgeries.
But the life expectancy of a bypass graft is usually around 10-15 years. Now, there are a lot of grafts that will perform very well up to 25 years, but there are some that get occluded within an hour or so after surgery.
The best and easiest way to determine if they are all working well, is a CT Angiogram. This is a non-invasive, non-expensive, and fast way to take a look at the grafts and get a good picture of overall cardiac function.
Talk to your doctor about it.

I am not a doctor but I feel I can answer this question. After a successfull bye-pass surgery, there is no need to worry about another heart attack. (Bye-Pass surgery is a surgery wherin the blocked blood vessels supplying blood to the heart itself is replaced with healthy blood vessels and the blood supply to the heart is normalised). However it also depends on how many attacks you had before you underwent the surgery because after every attack, some portion of the heart muscles literally die and the heart is not pumping to its full capacity and the other part of the heart will have to compensate. However a healthy lifestyle will compensate for all the drawbacks. Positive thinking also helps. All negative traits like anger, jealousy, anxiety, ego, selfishness etc have some sort of a chemical change in our blood stream will cause harm. Lead a simple/healthy life, enjoy the good things around you and dont think about death. It eventually is going to win over everybody. Wish you a long life, All the best.....

after ten years some people need to go for another by pass,
here's a desi remedy for a blocked artery.
Natural therapy for heart vein opening. Please pass it on to your colleagues or friends.
For Heart Vein Opening
1) Lemon Juice 01 cup
2) Ginger Juice 01 cup
3) Garlic Juice 01 cup
4) Apple Vinegar 01 cup
Mix all above all boil in light flame approximately half hour, when it becomes 3 cups, take it out and keep it for cooling. After cooling, mix 3 cups of natural honey and keep it in bottle.
Every morning before breakfast use one tablespoon regularly. Your blockage of Vein will open. (No need of any Angiography or By pass)

It depends on your life style. Pl. go for a check up (ECG, 2D echo etc.) and if required, go for an angiogram (if the cardiologist feels the need).
