The LX line of Hearing Aids is pretty much the top of the line for what is out there... The one that I looked up online was showing an open fit BTE (behind the ear) aid. If you have a high frequency hearing loss and are compatable for the open fit and can afford it I would highly recommend it. These typically come with a five year warranty and cost about 5-7k a pair. They are very small BTE's and you really have to look to notice them... If the appearance is a big deal for you, then this is the way to go. The open fit is extremely nice for people who are still active. When you wear an open fit you don't have to worry about feedback (squeal you get from aids when your ear is being covered by a hat or phone, something like that) your ears also do not get the sense of being plugged as they do not occupy your ear and you don't get the "tunnel" effect while talking that other models frequently give people. They also help the prevention of wax build up again becasue of the open fit.
If you have a loss other then high frequency I would assume that a lot of the open features apply to the other types of this model with the exception of the feedback (unless they have an auto cancel feature) and the plugged feeling, tunnel hearing, and wax build up.) These look to be top of the line and if you can afford them they are worth the money.
