Why do people bring up interracial relationships?
Moses was married to a black woman from Africa. No where in the bible does not condemn interracial relationships the way He condemns sexual immorality. So how is that a valid argument? I'm a black woman married to a white man. God has no problem with that. How do I know...because it's clearly written. So where are people getting that God has a problem with interracial marriage? PS...being unequally yolked has nothing to do with interracial relationships.
I know I'm gonna get some ugly answers, I can take it. All I ask is that you just answer the question. Thank you all in advance and have a wonderful weekend!
I'm not giving anyone thumbs down.
Thanks again for the answers :-)
Rac...homosexuals will never have it like the Africans who were slaves had. So that is not a valid comparison. At least in my opinion.
you are right Jean..but there is always room to learn from other people.
I live in the south. I already know how it is. But people who use the bible to jusitfy their hate is clearly not reading it correctly.

People who try to use the Bible to justify condemning interracial relationships have apparently never read it very closely. When Miriam and Aaron talked bad about Moses for his African wife, it displeased God.
Timothy was a great leader of the early church, and his mother was Jewish and his father Gentile. There are many such examples in the Bible. There is no valid religious argument against interracial marriage using Christian texts.
God bless you and your husband.

It's because people have historically used the Bible to justify both slavery and bans on interracial marriage. Now you might not find justification for that in the Bible but many Christians did (and some still do) find it when they read that the Jews were not to intermarry with the pagans. They believed strongly that it somehow applied to them and, therefore, they must make it apply to everyone else.
This is what I've learned from living 35 years in the South. I've heard it straight from the horses' mouths. For the record, I don't agree with these people and I wish you and your husband the very best.

Don't know about you, but I lived thru the 60's and a lot of very similar arguments being made today against gay marriage were being made then against interracial couples (including bible-based ones). Only major difference is not as high a frequency of gays killed now as there were blacks killed then over the matter.

I am going to attempt to explain my perspective...I don't mean to be offensive in any way so please see my heart here.
I believe God Himself is not opposed to mixed racial relationships. What I do believe is that God knew man would have a problem with it. Mankind has a problem with things as simple as noses, big or little, cute or ugly.
Man looks on the outward but God looks on the heart!

maximum interracial relationships convey about separation after the little mixed breed is born. even as are women human beings going to comprehend that they carry the future of genetics of their race. Genetics is major to the survival of ALL RACES.

You bring up an excellent point, and over 70% of your fellow African-Americans spoke up on the issue on Tuesday.
I mean, interracial couples never resorted to civil unions, did they?

People often sneer at that which is different.
It's the immature way of coping with something you do not understand.
Racism is a perfect example.

Because the vile hatred being levelled at gays now is exactly the same as that aimed at black people in the past. What you believe about your god is your affair, but it should not be imposed on everyone else.

Because they are ignorant, and they need reasons to back up their ignorance.
