How do I stop puddles from forming in my car?
I live in Seattle, so it rains a lot in the fall, winter, and spring. This morning, when I got to my car, there was a puddle on the floor right under my pedals. (Great.)
My seats are never wet, nor are there drips or anything on any of my windows, so I don't think it's the seal around my doors or windows. What could be causing it and how do I fix it?
It's a '95 Accord, if that matters at all.
It definitely isn't coolant. It looks and smells just like water. If the windows or windshield were leaking, wouldn't there be water on the dash or inside the windows? I'll go and check for rust today. Thanks.

Water leaks are one of the most frustrating problems to find and solve. Typically when water puddles in the front floor boards it is from the seal around the windshield. The guys that come and replace windshields at your work or house generally offer the cheapest solution.
You can ck this by removing a few of the kick panels and pulling the carpet back as far as possible. lay inside with a flashlight and have someone run water over the windshield while you look up at the floor boards where you have pulled the carpet back from, Near the pedals and near the heater/ A/c box. If not from there start taking more of the interior out, run water over every seal until leak is found. Like I said, Major pain in the ****!!!
Edit- You did say it happened after it rains, so if that is true then rule out a coolant leak, However if it is there after driving and not raining then suspect Heater core failure.

i had an accord rust in the fenderwells and every time i drove through snow the floor was wet. look for rust holes behind carpet, if the inside of the car doesn't smell really sweet i wouldn't suspect a coolant leak.

There are line for each thing under there and you ought to get it interior the shop ASAP! Your drip hose out of your AC is on the backside and you have ripped that off inflicting the water to easily come out the place the drain is as a replace of working down the tube and directly to the line. if the water is chilly I woudl wager this is it

your weather stripping is bad and when it rains, the rain comes in around the stripping and gets on the floor. try to tighten up the door some so it shuts tighter. if that don,t work then you need new weather stripping.
