Do qb's take hits during practice?

I know that hits will happen on accident but do they during say summer drills or otas let their college or pro qb's ever take hits?

No they just let the defenders touch them instead of tackling them.

Usually quarterbacks don't take hits in the pros, college and usually even high school. This is because they are a much different type of player than other positions. They are more finesse and it would be easy to get them hurt. I did hear of one instance though where the Temple Universtiy quarterbacks took full contact because they didn't know who the starter would be and they wanted to find out who was up to the whole part of the game.

    No, they don't get hit.

Quarterbacks and kickers wear red jerseys so defensive players know not to hit them. The risk of them getting injured is too great, and they'll most likely get enough experience getting hit during the games, anyway.

No they do not allow defensive players to hit them, but some coaches will throw tackling pads at them to work with them on keeping their eyes downfield while bodies are flying around them.
