What are the spices in a commercial "pumpkin pie spice" mix?
If you have this, you could just tell me what it says on ingredients...if you happen to know proportions, that's awesome too.

cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger and allspice ... usually twice as much cinnamon as nutmeg, cloves & ginger - and half as much allspice. I just use cinnamon, ginger and a touch of nutmeg though - since I think cloves & allspice are too strong

I think cloves ground are in there too along with cinnamon...I don't add any spices when I make the pumpkin pie and it tastes very good still...using just the simple can of straight pumpkin...add the 1 cup of brown sugar, your 2 eggs, half cup 10% creme, 1/2 cup of condensed milk, stir, pour in prebaked (5-7 minutes at 350degrees) pie shell with holes in bottom with fork so it doesn't rise at bottom) and bake for 40 minutes. It's delicious on its own or with a spritz of canned whip creme or a la mode vanilla.
