I can't say I've been on enough roller coasters to have a valid opinion for 'World's Best' rides, but I do have a few I've enjoyed.

Both the Hulk and Dueling Dragons at Orlando's Islands of Adventure are extremely fun. Hulk breaks the usual tradition of a slow climb to a coaster's peak with a shocking acceleration near the top while it climbs. It isn't extremely long, nor does it have too many fancy twists and turns, but it does keep you at high speed throughout the ride, even going underground/water. The Hulk has several loops and a massive cobra roll, all of which are done at high speed.

Dueling Dragons has the usual twin, dueling coaster illusions, making it feel as though the roller coaster you are riding is about to hit its counterpart coaster. Being a floorless ride helps make it feel as though you could almost kick the other passengers. Like Hulk, DD is short and never takes time to slow down. I don't remember DD lasting even three or so minutes long, but it does have its fair share of loops, twists, and turns. Plus, unlike some dueling coasters, DD actually deploys the opposing coasters at the same time. Several dueling roller coasters I've been on have gone at seperate times, only going when there were enough passengers for it to be filled.

The three other coasters I feel deserve a mention are all at Florida's Busch Gardens. Again, I haven't had the pleasure to ride too many coasters, so I'm just filling up to five.

Easily the best roller coaster at Busch Gardens is Montu. Even waiting in line for Montu is an experience, from the Egyptian-styled decor, to the tracks being right over your head. Riding Montu is just insane. You can never tell which way your are going on Montu, as it is floorless. It changes direction and inverts so much that it is a thrilling experience no matter how often it is ridden.

Kumba is a longer roller coaster that loops around one of the wooden bridges in the area. Kumba has most types of appealing features, from a gigantic loop, corkscrews, small cobra rolls, and a distinctive, echoing roar. Kumba is easily the loudest of Busch Gardens's rides, which makes sense. Several years ago, I found out that Kumba actually means "Roar".

Gwazi only makes my fun list because it is a wooden roller coaster. Otherwise, it's basic track scheme wouldn't have the leeway to shake about during the ride. Gwazi is a dueling coaster, but in design only. Busch Gardens doesn't have the same high attendance as Islands of Adventure, so the two coasters rarely deploy at the same time. One thing that makes Gwazi stand out is that it doesn't give up speed or length. Even though it has a wooden frame, it goes plenty quick for a decently long track.

If I had to rank these coasters 1 to 5:

    1. Montu - only beats out Hulk because it has more of a surprise factor in its inversions and turns, while Hulk merely launches you at its start. Besides... age before beauty :D

    2. Incredible Hulk - Hulk is fun, but it only has its impressive start and its large cobra roll to make it unique. Without those two features, the Hulk could easily be 'just some coaster' that happens to be named after a Marvel character.

    3. Kumba - The Kumba's length is what puts it above its dueling kin. It loops, it ducks, it dives, but the fact that it passes over so much of that section of Busch Gardens, roaring over all who cast their gaze its way, is what wins it my spot 3.

    4. Dueling Dragons - Short, but it's metal track and popularity beat out Gwazi by allowing it to have more loops and by allowing it to actually deploy its coasters simultaneously.

    5. Gwazi - Has the thrill factor from not having the rigid structure of a metal track.

Oh, and Shiekra sucks :P Short, gimmicky coaster...

Source(s): Live in Florida, been on each of these coasters dozens of times.
