Anyone know how to fix a blurry monitor?

I have a Gateway 550GR with a Gateway monitor. The desktop display and internet display are blurry. I have tried to fix the settings on the monitor itself and the settings through the computer. Neither helped. I did a search through Google and found if I scroll while holding the control button it does a temporary fix by enlarging the font-but this doesn't do anything to the desktop display. I can't find any drivers through Gateway. Anyone know a way to fix it? I do all my artwork on this computer.

Update:

I think I fixed it! I checked the cables again...I had my wireless router on top of my monitor so I had to move it to get to the cables. I left the room, came back in a few minutes later and the monitor looked better than ever! Guess there was some interference between the router and the monitor.

    What type and model is the monitor - this is the only thing that matter and you didn't tell us.

    If it's a CRT then probably the tube is worn out - buy another monitor. If it's a LCD then the connections are bad - try with another cable.

    might sound stupid but take a pencil eraser and lightly rub over the connectors. they could be messy and making a bad connection

    did u try changong the refresh rate and um i forget what its called and the pixels and the device quality?
