The President of the United States has to buy his food, he makes $400,000 a year and his food for his family is deducted out of it as well as for unofficial guests. His cooks and waitstaff are paid for by the taxpayer though.

Depends on what he and his family eats. Yes the President covers his own food. Food for Official guest are free. Of course the cook and the 80 staff members are free.

the president is required to pay for his own groceries, as well as clothing. He does earn about 400,000 yr. I heard this info. on the news tonite.
