Help with Belkin router!?

I have a belkin router. The model is F5D8233 4v3 and Its a N wireless router. The front of the router has 6 things that can be lit up; Wired, Wireless, Modem, Internet, Router, and Security. When I plug in the router to the Modem, the modem light will not light up and neither will the internet light. The Wired, wireless, and router lights are lit up and im connected directly to a Laptop. Does anyone know the problem why my modem light and internet light is not on because it is connected to the modem and i can get online. Any help please would be appreciated. Thanks!
