New Mexico - Elephant Butte Lake - Fishing from the shore?
Hi, just wondering if anyone familiar with Elephant Butte can let me know about shore fishing down there. Can you fish off the marina? What kind of fishing might I find? What kind of fish, and how can I catch them?
I'll be spending a couple of days and might bring my pole and get a license, if it would be worth the time without a boat.

It's very rare that you can fish off the docks at any marina, anymore. Both liability issues and crowding are the reasons.
I've only fished Elephant Butte once. As I recall, there was limited shore access. But you might consider renting a boat.
