Ok I just pass the NCO board for E-5. What do I need to do now before I can get promoted?

If not already completed you have to attend and graduate from WLC, Warrior Leadership Course. This also used to be called PLDC, Primary Leadership and Development Course. If you are active duty, I think this training is 2 or 3 weeks long now. It used to be 30 days long. Anyway, pass the board and get your recommendation from the board, complete WLC, and wait for the points to drop. Once all the criteria have been met, your Personnel section will get the list and cut the orders.

above answers are all true. also civ. ed is a big amount 1.5 points per credit hour. 150 from commander usually 150 from board(varies on your performance) awards AAM's, ARCOM's, GCM's, PT test, Weapon Qual., Correspondence courses(5 hours=1point), and im sure there are others im forgetting. check your unit s-1 for points cutoff also retention should have points cutoffs updated and posted by regs for every mos. The WLC or PLDC for us older guys is not required to attain SGT but must be completed shortly after getting pinned. Finally Id like to say You are an NCO a SGT not an E-5, you are working on the next rank not paygrade. congrats.

The SGT that replace into demoted. His date of rank for E4 is whilst he replace into demoted. So he's now the backside E 4. the different soldier who's an E4 woul be senior in line with date of rank. the sole ingredient that count number is their date of rank. Time in provider isn't a ingredient.

The biggest things are passing PT and completing WLC. Make sure your official photograph is squared away too.

Get your promotion points. How do you not know this?? You get points by your PT scores, awards, and taking correspondence courses.
