Jordan is a better dunker. Lebron dunks with power but his dunks usually look too simple.

Yes, Jordan had more finesse since he was well coordinated and had good control of his body (as seen by all of those insane head fakes, sick moves, and putting so many defenders in the popcorn machine). Lebron has more power mainly because of muscle mass. Lebron is built like an NFL player. All of that power, IMHO doesn't really make dunks look any better but in game time situations can help him muscle through a defender or two and still pull off the dunk. Their verticals are comparable since they both can stare at the rim in the air.

If they both competed in a dunk contest in their primes I give a slight edge to Jordan since the dunk contest is more about artistry and Jordan has the edge there.

In game situations, it is close. Lebron pulls off a lot of dunks because he can muscle through defenders. But Jordan pulled off as many if not more dunks because he could get to a spot and elevate so quickly that defenders couldn't respond in time. Also, Jordan has humongous hands. When you can hold a basketball like a tennis ball all you have to do is jump and if the rim is anywhere near you, it's a dunk.

Like many other answerers, I think it would be nice to see what Lebron could do in a dunk contest. But all of you who are too young to have seen Jordan play, he was an absolute beast. We still haven't seen anything like him although some are knocking on that door.

Very hard to choose. But it's gotta be M.J.

The only reason why I chose M.J was because he was a 2 time NBA All-Star Weekend Dunk Contest Champion.

If LeBron can do that, or even top that, he'll be way better. In games, I think LeBron is better. The guy can jump over the rim and just bring the ball inside the net.

  • We got to see Mike in the dunk contest, Lebron hasnt, sadly. Though if you have seen the little stunts Lebron has done before games he is more creative, and I believe has much much more power and would tear anyone up in a dunk contest. I really wish he would just do it. Imagine Lebron, Kobe, Howard, and i dont know who would be a good fourth.

Well overall I would pick Lebron. MJ's dunks were amazing. But some of Lebron's are creative as well. Lebron has more up his sleeves, but he doesn't show it.

I wonder why he didn't participate in a dunk contest. Both MJ and Kobe did.
