what are the laws behind protecting your children at school?

i live in wy. and my son got kicked in the balls today, and he told the yard duty, and she said she didn't care. Isn't there some law that says the schools have to keep our children safe? who would i ask about it. I do fully intend to go talk to the Principal, but i just wanted to have a little more knowledge on the subject first.

Update:

my son got kicked in the balls today and the yard duty said she didn't care. i was just wondering what are the laws to protect our childern at school? i plan to talk to the principal but just wanted to be more knowledgable on the subject first.

I think going to the principle is the first step, if you don't get any help there, go above his/her head to the school superintendent.
