Who will challenge Kobe Bryant in the 2009 MVP race?
Lets face it, Lakers are good, not good their amazing.
The Lakers 7-0 with the best record currently in the NBA and the only remaining undefeated team is looking to win 70 games or more this season.
That raises an eyebrow and another challenge for Kobe Bryant.
See Lakers couldve easily made into the playoffs lost few games here and there throughout the season and got into the playoff with 55 to 60 wins.
But now since Kobe is defending his NBA MVP award he has to give another reason to the NBA media why he should be NBA MVP again, and the only way to do is win 70 games or more this season.
Kobe's stats have fallen this season, but he is playing less minutes and he has well established cast around him so he trust his teammates way more now. Also, Kobe has been coming up big in the 4th quarters especially in road games, like Denver, Dallas, and New Orleans. This just shows Kobe will lead the team whenever needed on and off the court.
So here what Kobe has to do to get MVP again:
1) win 70 games or more - and have the best record in the nba
2) shoot near 48-50% from the field, limit turnovers
3) elevate his teammates - something he has already done
4) play consistent defense - something he has always done in his career
5) come up big in the 4th quarter during crunch time to give Lakers the edge.
Kobe will have competition in the MVP race
with Chris Paul, Lebron James, Dwight Howard, and maybe even Joe Johnson if Atlanta can keep up their pace.
but in my opinion none of those teams will win more then 50-55 games or it will be less.
So Pull out your MVP wild cards
Kobe Bryant is #1 currently defending his ground. Will anyone throw him off, or will he repeat as the NBA MVP back to back

I think its going to be either LeBronze or Paul who wins it. I don't think Kobe cares one bit.

Dude 8 games in and Kobe is looking good. But if u can take your Lakers eyepatch off for a minute u will see that CP3 is making everyone else look plain. The dude had his first sub 20 - 10 game of the season today.
With 17 pts, 9 asts...and 6 rbds. And with that as his worst game this year, MVP is a forgone conclusion.
And, no, I'm not a hornets fan.

they ought to make a three disc dvd action picture regarding the black mamba aka kobe bryant. He has achieved all of it so some distance in his 13 365 days occupation having 3 nba champions,2 scoring titles,3 all celeb mvp,2008 season mvp and this night wins a championship with the lakers. And gets his fourth ring and additionally 2009 finals mvp.next we can repeat back as long as we are able to play our superb shielding and stay healthful the lakers, would be 2009-2010 champions and kobe would be 2009-2010 season mvp and finals mvp.

most likely paul or LBJ because Kobe is playin limited minutes and therefore cannot put up da same # of stats his competition can plus have u seen hornets or cavs play, both LBJ and CP3 handle da ball 23 out of da 24 seconds in da shot clock so every trip down their team scores theyll get either an assist or a basket themselves im not sayin dats bad or anythin but its part of da reason kobe wont win MVP again

This early, I say LBJ is a shoo-in for the scoring title again and maybe, will be considered an MVP candidate alongside KB24, CP3, KG and PP. The past few years have shown us that great numbers do not actually make the player a shoo-in for the MVP (Nash with back-to-back MVP's and Nowitzki with KB doing great numbers but always a bridesmaid!)
KB24 will always be KB24 and he will give you his best everyday. It's up to the others to show they are worthy to succeed the current MVP.

CP3 and James.
I love the Lakers and Kobe, but i really cant see him winning MVP this yr with the numbers he is putting up soo far.
They pick a player with great stats on a good/great team to be MVP.
So far Kobe isnt putting up MVP stats, as bad as it hurts me to say that.
